Sam
In 1994, I got my first apartment all by myself. I was so lonely and had said how nice it would be to have a kitty to keep me company. I half meant what I said at the time, but next thing I knew my best friend showed up with this 6 week old kitten and deemed him mine. I named him Sam. For many years it was just he and I. He had such a spunky personality and he was quite choosy about who he befriended, but I found he had the best judge of character of any person I’d ever known. He was unique and so was I, so we made the perfect match.
About 3 years ago, Sam lost his sight to cataracts. He didn’t skip a beat. He behaved as though he could see everything. He always sat at my feet in the evening and slept in the same spot in my bed for all those years. He absolutely loved wet food (treats), and I spoiled him everyday with them…especially when he became older and began to lose some weight. (At one point he was 25 lbs).
On the morning of March 7, 2011, at 9:08am, Sam took his last breath. We had a vet appointment later, but he never made it that far. He was home with me, in his favorite spot in the bed, and I loved on him right until the end. I thank Paw Prints for the comfort having his paw print and remains have brought to me. I miss him like crazy, but I know that you all respected him and my love for him and his life. Thank you all so much.
Thank you all for all you did with him. I have nother elderly kitty, Luna, and I know there will come a day when she too will no longer be with me. When that day comes, I will use you all again because even though the vet told you the wrong info to put on his nameplate, I do not hold that against you, you all did a wonderful job with the info you were given. And the clay paw print to me is priceless. Very touching to me.
Thank you again,
Carol N.
